Biography
As a teenager I started listening to The Cure. “Wish” had just been released. I have listened to this album hundreds of times. I went on to discover more of The Cure and become a huge fan of the band, which I still am to this day. Popular bands at that time were Nirvana and Metallica. I liked their music but wanted to know more, dig deeper, looking for more extreme or darker sounds. I remember seeing NIN’s “Wish” video on TV and thinking, this is what I’m looking for! French band Noir Désir, Depeche Mode, Suede, 80’s French punk-acts and psychedelic rock, especially The Doors and Pink Floyd, were others of my favorites. Looking back, then and there, it’s about as dark a music one could find.

New Millennium
When the new millennium started, I was listening almost exclusively to The Cure. I found I was struggling for new exciting sounds (new to me). I got a post-punk compilation from Rhino Records. There were bands such as Echo & The Bunnymen, The Stranglers, Iggy Pop, The Cult, Killing Joke. I realized where I was and how much there was to catch up. Little by little and with the help of the internet I discovered alongside the gothic rock classics, the second wave and the newer bands. This is probably why I’m always willing to discover new acts with an open mind. I find remarkable albums in last years’ releases, some could have become classics if they had been released in the 80’s or 90’s. I think it is difficult to classify a band in a particular style of music, as a large majority of bands blend in different styles, and have been influenced by very different artists.
